The Korea Institute of Design Promotion (KIDP) participates annually in Maison&Objet Paris, the international fair showcasing "decoration, design, and lifestyle" consumer goods. KIDP's Design Korea Exhibition Hall at the event has served as a steppingstone for small and medium-sized businesses with design excellence to reach broader exposure and market opportunities.
This year, KIDP is participating from September 5 to September 9, joined by Korean design businesses showcasing furniture, stationery, tableware, and more. In collaboration with IT Donga, we are introducing 23 design-driven small and medium enterprises participating in Maison&Objet Design Korea.
Art is not something distant. As we live our lives, we encounter countless elements of art. Many renowned artists worldwide have drawn inspiration from everyday life. Everyone can encounter art in their daily lives and transform it into their own masterpiece. Life&COLLECT is here to help make that happen.
Youn Doo-ri and Park Haze, co-founders of Life&COLLECT, describe the meaning of their company name as " a design collective that practices the art of living." They dream of encountering and collecting art in daily life to for enriched lives. Life&COLLECT helps people manifest the art they meet and collect in their daily lives. The company connects people with both Korean and international artists who express diverse perspectives and stories, designing the art of living.

Thanks to Life&COLLECT, people can expand the art experiences they encounter and collect in their daily lives. They collaborate with artists to structure these experiences for an artistic revival or their routine spaces and time. The goal is to help people create a life where art and daily life coexist and breathe together. The audience extends beyond individuals; various art institutions, exhibitions, and brands also collaborate with Life&COLLECT to create new artistic experiences.
Youn Doo-ri and Park Haze experienced the power of art while studying culture and the arts. It was during this time that they resolved to help more people enjoy art that enriches life and refreshes their daily lives. They emphasize that art is not something confined to museums or enjoyed by only a select few. By broadening the perspective to seek and reinterpret art in daily life, anything can become art.

This belief led Youn Doo-ri and Park Haze to establish Life&COLLECT, where they first focused on connecting people with artists and helping everyone create art. The art created in collaboration of people and artists is never monotonous; it reflects various unique personalities and characteristics. For people, it brings the inherent utility of art, which is to renew life and daily routines. For artists, it provides opportunities to have their work and vision recognized, to generate income, and to continue creating new works. This virtuous cycle continues to expand the scope and scale of art.
Having broadened the scope of art by connecting people and artists, Life&COLLECT views Maison&Objet as an opportunity for innovation and growth. They will first share the company’s philosophy of practicing the art of living with international art professionals and companies. They also look forward to meeting and collaborating with international artists who resonate with this philosophy. In this process, the scope of the art of living will expand beyond visual art to include performances, music, and more. By introducing their previously created works to the international stage, they also aim to showcase the talents and perspectives of Korean artists. The ultimate plan of Youn Doo-ri and Park Haze is to establish Life&COLLECT as a leading K-arterior brand.

To this end, Life&COLLECT will exhibit collaborative works with the motion graphics studio Particlefield and artist Kim Eunha at Maison&Objet. Particlefield, a motion graphics studio known for working on visuals for K-pop idols such as BTS's RM, Seventeen, and aespa, has collaborated with Life&COLLECT on the "Home Totem Rug" series. This series features Persian patterns, traditional Korean objects believed to ward off negative energy, and various graphics that add meaning to the user's daily life on household rugs.
Life&COLLECT and artist Kim Eunha will also present the "Softy Cake Pouch." Kim Eunha creates objects using discarded clothing, turning everyday items like food and plants into art objects. These objects, including pouches and keyrings, are both soft to the touch and practical. Life&COLLECT emphasizes Kim Eunha's theme, "Collect the Love of Life," to help people strengthen their attachment to life through art by keeping everyday art objects close at hand.

Youn Doo-ri and Park Haze stated, "We aim to establish our company as one that discovers and supports promising emerging artists, helping them create while delivering high-quality interior products to consumers. By encouraging more consumers to focus on the art market, we hope to contribute to the growth of the art ecosystem."
